Children and Youth
"But Jesus said, 'Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’” (Matthew 19:14)
Parents are the first and primary educators of their children’s faith, with the responsibility to teach their children the faith, virtues, and prayer, modeled in their daily lives. The responsibility is shared with the wider Church community.
From toddlers to teens, Corpus Christi’s mission is to provide loving and thoughtful experiences where children and youth meet and deepen their relationship with God and learn to follow in Jesus’s footsteps with the following programs.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Designed Just for Kids: Children ages 4 to 11 experience the same Sunday readings, rituals, and prayers as their families, but through a kid-friendly lectionary and a developmentally appropriate homily.
Seamless Part of Mass: Children begin Mass sitting with their families. Before the readings start, our priest will invite children forward, and our volunteer team will guide them to our Daily Mass Chapel.
Rejoining the Family: After experiencing a prayerful environment tailored to them, the children return to the main church assembly to rejoin their families for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Grades K-5
Centered on Faith and Community: Through engaging lessons, story time, and shared prayer, our K–5 programs focus on building a fun, community-centered foundation in our Catholic tradition.
Bi-Weekly Schedule: Sessions meet about every other week for a total of 14 gatherings, letting you choose the track that fits your family best: Sunday mornings or Tuesday afternoons.
Grades 6-12
Bi-Weekly Schedule: Our middle and high school youth meet about every other week on Sunday evenings for 12 dynamic, community-building faith sessions.
Faith in Action: Youth will dive deeper into their faith by participating in special teaching Masses, choosing a parish ministry to serve in, and joining the Youth Stations of the Cross.
Social Connections & Game Club: Right after the session, youth are invited to stay join Game Club for board games, cards, and community building.
Sacramental Preparation
First Reconciliation
A Journey of Mercy and Grace: This preparation helps children understand God's unconditional love and experience the healing power of His forgiveness in a gentle, welcoming environment.
Encountering Jesus’ Peace: Children learn how to reflect on their choices, appreciate a fresh start, and discover that Jesus is always ready to welcome them with open arms.
Integrated Faith Formation: Preparation for this sacrament is seamlessly built into our bi-weekly Kindergarten through 5th Grade Faith Formation track.
First Eucharist
Nourishing a Growing Faith: Children are invited to take a beautiful step closer to Jesus by preparing to receive His true presence in the Eucharist for the very first time.
Belonging to the Table: This milestone helps children understand that they are an active, loved, and essential part of the Body of Christ and our parish family.
Step-by-Step Community Learning: Held as part of our regular K–5 Faith Formation schedule, this program guides families together as children prepare for their first reception of Holy Communion.
Confirmation
Owning Your Faith Journey: Confirmation is all about making the personal choice to claim your baptismal promises for yourself, growing deeper in your relationship with God, and embracing your faith as a young adult.
Dedicated Space for Discernment: We believe teens deserve a supportive, specialized environment to explore real-world questions, discern their path, and discover how faith meaningfully fits into their lives.
Two-Year Preparation Path: Preparation at Corpus Christi begins during 9th grade Faith Formation and typically concludes with the celebration of the sacrament in 10th grade.
